Thruday app: New & Improved Features Now Live in Version 2.1.2
Table of Contents
Over the course of 2024, Andy has been pretty quiet with updates. We wanted to observe the impact Thruday was having on the neurodiverse community as well as give us time to gather feedback from all of you.
It’s been an enlightening experience that has allowed us to understand what works for you and what doesn’t and take action where needed.
Don’t have the app yet? Thruday is available for free on the Android store and the Apple store and works great to keep those who struggle to stay on track or get overwhelmed with life.
What’s new in Thruday version 2.1.2?
Version 2.1.2 brings some exciting new updates that will further enhance how Thruday integrates with your day and keeps you on track for longer.
👪 Unlimited Assistants for Free
In a significant upgrade, Thruday users can now invite an unlimited number of assistants to their schedule at no extra cost or even requiring a subscription. This feature aims to alleviate the stress and overwhelm of planning by allowing users to receive support from family, friends, or caregivers.
😃 Enhanced Mood Tracking
The mood tracking feature has been significantly improved with more options and better notification delivery. Assistants can now stay in touch with how users are feeling in real-time, fostering better communication and support.
🔔 Reliable Activity Notifications
With the integration of our distributed backend, activity notifications are now more reliable than ever. Users will receive timely notifications on their phones, ensuring they never miss an important task or event.
🌙 New & Improved Dark Mode
Responding to user feedback, Thruday has also upgraded its Dark Mode. The new and improved Dark Mode not only provides a visually appealing interface but also reduces eye strain during night-time usage.
🔋 Performance Enhancements and Battery Efficiency
Performance has been boosted across the board, making the app faster and more responsive. Additionally, battery usage has been optimized, allowing users to enjoy the app’s full range of features without draining their device’s battery as fast as before. Efficiency has been greatly improved.
What’s on the horizon for Thruday?
We have a huge roadmap for future features, but Andy cannot tackle it all at once. He currently takes no wage from the business and puts everything back into the development of the business. This means that currently, there aren’t funds to expand with a huge development team and rapid development of the long-term roadmap.
📅 Google Calendar Sync is Coming
We know, it’s something we have spoken about for a long time and we even had an import feature available in the app for a short time. However, we have faced timeline issues beyond our control in getting it approved by Google. However, there has been progress. We have managed to speak to Google, who will be prioritizing approval in the very near future.
To coincide with approval, Andy has changed the integration to be a full synchronization service instead of a one-time import. Once approved, the feature will automatically unlock in the app where you can then authorize Thruday to access your Google calendar in real-time and keep everything in sync, meaning you can carry on using your external calendar while still having all your events at hand in one place.
🎨 Custom Colour Selections for Activities
Currently, we have a predefined rainbow style color palette, but some users complained that the colors were a little too harsh and they would like to be able to select their own colors. So Andy listened and is currently working on this as we write this article.
📷 Use Custom Pictures for Profile Pictures
Earlier in version 2.0.0, we replaced custom profile pictures with illustrated avatars that you can configure to look how you want because we noticed not so many people were using it, but that backfired on us.
So, returning in version 2.1.3 will be the ability to take custom profile pictures, crop them, apply filters and set them as your profile picture.
Conclusion
As we look back on 2024 so far, it’s clear that Andy’s decision to maintain a quieter profile while focusing on the impact of Thruday has been immensely beneficial. This period of observation and feedback collection has provided invaluable insights into how the app can better serve the neurodiverse community.
Looking forward, there are many exciting developments on the horizon. The upcoming Google Calendar sync will offer seamless integration, while new customization options for activity colors and profile pictures will provide a more personalized experience. Despite the financial constraints, Andy’s commitment to reinvesting in Thruday ensures continuous improvement and innovation.
We appreciate the ongoing support and feedback from you and our users. If you haven’t yet experienced Thruday, it’s available for free on both the Android and Apple stores. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to enhance the app to better meet your needs.
